Bene & seventhings ‒ shared vision of the circular economy

Held in Cologne from October 25 to 29, the ORGATEC 2022 focused on visionary concepts for modern working environments of the future. Approximately 700 exhibitors from 43 countries presented their ideas for future-proof workplace design and solutions for the challenges of the changing working environment. In addition to the latest developments in flexible working and smart technologies, this year’s trade fair placed particular emphasis on the topic of sustainability.

In parallel to the 2022 ORGATEC event, our partner Bene organized a special „The Work Now. Office“ exhibition. From October 25 to 28, the furniture manufacturer and international trendsetter for modern working environments offered customers a real experience around resource-saving designs, recyclable materials and novel manufacturing methods in its own Bene showroom at Habsburger Ring 2 in Cologne. All of the innovative ideas presented shared a common core of taking responsibility for our environment.

seventhings was there too. Under the motto "We take care of your inventory", seventhings’ Anna (Account Executive) and Patrick (CEO and Co-Founder) presented their joint vision in the Bene showroom. The two made it clear: The future of inventory management is efficient, digital and sustainable!

Visitors were given exclusive insight into our digital product passport. In the future, all inventory-related information will be digitally stored in order to create a sustainable circular economy. Anna and Patrick introduced the seventhings inventory software and presented the RFID technology. An inspiring representation of the future!

Throughout the 4-day exhibition, Anna & Patrick took time for intensive discussions and personal exchanges with Bene customers, partners, service providers, interior designers and architects from all over the world. Our digital inventory manager received a lot of praise and recognition. Among other things, the idea behind combining a physical product with a digital solution impressed many visitors.

What else the partnership with Bene has in store

In addition to a strong partnership, Bene and seventhings share the same vision, a vision of the innovative circular economy. It is our common goal to create an endless circle designed to reduce the consumption of raw materials and resources and to return the highest possible proportion of materials back to the cycle. Starting over instead of throwing away.

We believe that circularity is the solution to the problems we face due to dwindling resources, a global waste problem and climate change. And the best way to do that is right from the start!

For this reason, we are very pleased to see that manufacturers are equipping their products with our seventhings digital service. What does that look like exactly?

From 2023 onward, seventhings will provide a digital twin and digital inventory management for every single piece of furniture from Bene (and the entire BGO-Group). Incorporated directly after the production process, this service is available to all users and linkable with all software tools along the asset journey. Using augmented reality, our seventhings inventory app can project furniture into the space to be furnished allowing interior designers and decorators to see their ideas in advance.

The best thing about it is that, from the very beginning, you have the possibility to view all the digital information about your items such as product material and the recyclability data. The entire lifecycle of each piece of furniture is mapped in the seventings asset manager software in order to create the best conditions for a functioning circular economy. Constantly maintained data provides a reliable basis upon which to make sustainable purchasing decisions or to return materials, raw materials and products back to the cycle in the future. In addition, thanks to the newly gained overview and the transparency of the data, you can easily pass items on to employees, service providers or recycling companies to give your assets a second life.
